We know that anyone can find themselves at crisis point and food is one of the biggest household expenses.

If you’re struggling to feed yourself or your family, local food banks, such as the Trussell Trust can provide emergency food parcels.

To get an emergency food parcel from a Trussell Trust food banks, you’ll need to be referred and provided with a voucher.

We can issue Trussell Trust food bank vouchers

  • Trussell Trust food banks

    We can issue food bank vouchers for Trussell Trust foodbanks.

    You will need a voucher from us to exchange at the food bank for a food parcel of three days of emergency food.

    What to expect:

    Visiting a food bank might seem daunting, but you’ll get a warm welcome in a safe environment, a listening ear from trained volunteers, as well as your food parcel.

    They will do their absolute best to give you the right food to meet your needs.

    The food bank team will also help to support you in any other ways that they can.

  • What if there isn't a Trussell Trust food bank near you?

    If there isn’t a Trussell Trust foodbank near you, don't worry, we'll advise of your nearest independent foodbank and talk you through the process.

How the vouchers work:

  • First, get in touch with the housing team

    If you're experiencing financial crisis and are struggling to feed yourself or your family, we can provide you with a food bank voucher for an emergency food parcel.

    Just get in touch with your housing officer on 0300 1234 009 or enquiries@midlandsrural.org.uk 

    If your housing officer is not available, any of the housing team will be able to help you.

    To get a voucher, we'll need to do a referral for you.

  • Then, we'll do the referral

    We'll need to complete an online referral form for you. It only takes a few minutes. We'll ask you a few basic questions to establish your needs, to make sure the food you receive is suitable for you.

    We'll ask check the best food bank location for you:

    • We will talk you through the options and decide with you which is the best location for you.
    • If you’re unable to collect the food, because of reduced mobility or illness, some food banks can deliver. Please discuss this with your housing officer.
  • Next, we'll issue the e-voucher

    The website will then issue us with an e-voucher to send to you.

    We can:

    • send this to you by email, or
    • print it and post it to you,
    • or print it and hand deliver to you, if we're in your area.
  • Now, you're ready to get your food parcel

    Once you've got your voucher, go along to the food bank and exchange it for an emergency food parcel.

    Before you go:

    • Check the opening times (which are included on the voucher).
    • Don't forget to take your voucher.

    When you get there

    • If your voucher is on your phone, you’ll be asked to show it to the food bank team.
    • If you have a printed voucher, the food bank team will ask for it.
