This week we’re supporting Rural Housing Week – an annual National Housing Federation campaign that shines a spotlight on the vital importance of housing associations for rural communities.
Taking place 3-7 July, the theme for this year’s Rural Housing Week is ‘building a better future for rural communities.’
The short supply of affordable rural housing is not a new problem. But with high property prices, reduced funding, a shortage of affordable homes to rent, increasing levels of second home ownership and holiday lets, and limitations on new home development it will continue to intensify having a heartbreaking impact on the sustainability of rural communities.
Throughout the week we’ll be sharing stories showcasing the importance of providing truly affordable homes for local people, to create a better future for rural communities.
